Internet Explorer - Operation Aborted!

Currently blogger.com is experiencing difficulties with Internet Explorer not loading some of the blogs hosted on it's servers. Barbies4Sale is one of those blogs.

The error has been reported and is now a "Known Issue for Blogger".

My own investigation has revealed that it is the "post pages" (pages with a single post) that are effected by Internet Explorer's "Operation Aborted" error, but that the Main or Front page of blogger blogs seem to load fine. Meaning; Barbies4Sale's Main Page should load in Internet Explorer with no errors.


Nevertheless, it is our suggestion, that that you use Firefox for your browser as

1. this isn't the first time IE has refused to load pages correctly;
2. IE isn't even a web friendly browser as Microsoft attempted to change the internet in a coup a failed;
3. Firefox is SAFER as it allows you to screen the cookies being installed on your computer and gives you the option to Accept, Accept for Session, or Reject.

UPDATE: Blogger seems to think that it is their "Followers" gadget (widget) that is causing the problem, and suggest bloggers move this gadget to the bottom of their page or remove it altogether.

"Personally", I don't think the gadget is the problem. But in all fairness to our readers, I am removing it anyway, until the problem is resolved. So to all the Barbies4Sale Followers, if you notice the gadget missing, you will now know why, and that it will be replaced ASAP! -

UPDATE: "I Think", the problem has been Solved! Well, maybe not solved as the problem still exist within the Blogger framework, but, and with Special Thanks to Karin who commented below. A workaround has been found!

As I said, the "Internet Explorer Operation Aborted" error, seem to occur only on the "post pages". And when Karin suggested the "Comment Form", I Knew, she was right.

1. because it "fit the symptoms" (as Dr. House would say).
2. because it was only last week that i had Changed my comment form over to "Embedded below post".

I have now changed the setting Back to the "Full Page" comment form setting, and everything seems to be fine and dandy. I don't really like the "Full Page" setting, but until Blogger gets the "Embedded below post" setting fixed, it will just have to do.

To Reiterate: A "workaround" for the "Internet Explorer Operation Aborted" error, has been found. The bed folds down and when turned over, becomes a bathtub. (I'd like to see the plumbing set up for that!) In our opinion, the condition of this house qualifies it to be a fine collectible item. DoubleClick DART Cookie Disaster!

Google Adsense has changed it's Privicy Policy. Now, anytime your click on a site that sponsors Google Adsense advertising, a Doubleclick Tracking Cookie is install on your computer to Track your viewing and buying habits. (Note: if you have ever visited YouTube.com for instance, you already have this cookie installed.) In theory, or at least, the excuse that is used. Is that in tracking your viewing and buying habits, Google will better be able to deliver Ads to the site you are visiting. In the past, the Ads were "Site Relevant". Meaning, if you were visiting a site like Barbies4Sale, then the Ads that would be displayed on that site would be relevant to Barbie, Barbie dolls, and of course, Barbie dolls for sale.

And in deed Barbies4Sale was designed for just such advertising as our whole purpose is to deliver the Best Barbie buying deals on the internet.

Now however, because Google Adsense has elected to make use of the DoubleClick DART Tracking Cookie, you "may" no longer see ads relevant to Barbie or "Barbie Shopping", but Ads that reflect your "normal" interest and buying habits. That's because the DoubleClick DART Tracking Cookie will Track your every move on the internet to build a profile of your interest, surfing, and shopping habits.

This is a DISASTER for sites like Barbies4Sale. And even for you, the consumer, as you are to be Profiled, and Pigeon Holed into a Limited range of advertising that takes into account Only where you have been, and not where you are. Simply put, now when you visit Barbies4Sale, you may be served Ads more relevant to Entertainment, Cooking, Sexually Oriented, or Hollywood Gossip Sites, (if those are the type of sites you "normally" visit); Or, if you share your computer with your family, Football Ads, Sports Ads, Advertising for Men, Advertising for Children, and God knows what all they will serve up on a site like Barbies4Sale that has Nothing to do with those things. And all because they "think" that they predict what you want, when in fact, all they are doing is Limiting your Choices.

Luckily, or maybe i should say, "Graciously". Google/DoubleClick does give you the option to "OPT-OUT" of the DoubleClick DART Cookie. However, the Opting-Out only changes the DART Tracking Cookie after, it has already been Installed on your computer. Which means, that should you ever Delete the cookie, Doubleclick will install a New DART Tracking cookie, that will not have the "OPT-OUT" value added to it. Meaning, you will have to once again return to DoubleClick to OPT-OUT all over again. Google does however, offer a "OPT-OUT PLUGIN", but, and I don't know about you, but I've got enough plugins on my computer. And besides, this plugin insures the Permanent installment of the DART Tracking cookie which, i don't think i like that idea.


Therefore, and in my opinion.
It would be better to BLOCK the DoubleClick DART Tracking Cookie altogether by;

• * If you are using Internet Explorer 6.0, go to the Tools menu, then to Internet Options, then to the Privacy tab. This version of Internet Explorer is the first to use P3P to distinguish between types of cookies. P3P uses standardized privacy statements made by the cookie issuer to manage your acceptance of cookies. Under the “Privacy” tab, click on the “Advanced” button. Select “Override automatic cookie handling” and choose whether you want to accept, block or be prompted for “First-party” and “Third-party Cookies.” If you want to block all cookies coming from DoubleClick’s doubleclick.net domain, go to the “Web Sites” section under the “Privacy” tab and click the “Edit” button. In the “Address of Web site” field, enter “doubleclick.net,” select “Block,” click OK (menu will disappear); click OK again and you will be back to the browser.

• * If you are using Netscape 6.0+, go to “Edit” in the menu bar, click on “Preferences,” click on “Advanced,” and select the “Cookies” field. Now check either the box that says, “Warn me before accepting a cookie” or “Disable cookies.” Click on “OK.” Now go to your “Start” button, click on “Find,” click on “Files and Folders,” type “cookies.txt” into the search box that appears, and click “Find Now.” When the search results appear, drag all files listed, into the “Recycle Bin.” Now shut down and restart your Netscape. Depending on your earlier choice you will either be prompted by new cookie sets or no cookies will be set or received.

• * If you are using Mozilla or Safari, please go to their websites to find out how to disable cookies in those programs. (Note: Firefox makes cookie handling EASY!)

I found this Wizard of Oz Barbie doll collection for sale on craigslist that includes a Mary Poppins Barbie doll. At first I was Very excited. I mean, Mary Poppins and the Wizard of Oz are my two most favorite movies of all time. So, yeah! When I found this collection of Wizard of Oz Barbie dolls that included a Mary Poppins Barbie doll, i "was" very excited. But then I started looking around.

Before showing you what I found, let me first show you the Classified Ad that i found.

Ok! So immediately i set out checking prices! Breaking out the calculator i find that $175.00 for this collection, is $25.00 per doll. Which seemed a little high, but, the collection as a whole might be worth it, if certain conditions were met which, i will explain later.

In Shopping around for other Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins Barbie dolls for sale however, i found;

on eBay: Many, Mary Poppins Barbie dolls with "Buy it Now" prices ranging from $19.00 to as high as $32.00, with the Average running about $25.00. And even at Walmart, the retail price was $24.93. At BarbieCollector.com however, the price was $18.95 so, of the three, I would say BarbieCollector.com would be the Best Buy!

Would Be, that is! But that I had One other store to check. And in deed it was our very own Barbies4Sale Amazon Store which "Currently (as of the time of this post)", has in stock, the Mary Poppins Barbie doll for the AMAZING low price, of just $8.99. That's Eight Dollars, and Ninty Nine cents.

I KNOW!!! That's Absolutely Incredible! So i did some More checking and found, it's TRUE! And that in fact, there is Only One Availible at $8.99 but that there are "Currently (and again, as of the time of this post)", 36 more new or used available from $10.09.


Now, it will take me a little longer to research the Wizard of Oz dolls for the Best price. So Please check back "with This post" and i will Add the results of my research to "this post", ASAP!

Right now however, my "Back" is Killing me and i need to go lay down. So if you'll forgive me, Good Night.
