COCA-COLA BARBIE~Coca-Cola® Barbie® (Waitress)1999 Collector Edition

Capturing a slice of American pie, Barbie® looks as nostalgic as the COCA-COLA® trademarks adorning her apron, waitress cap and "bottle-top" serving tray.

The front of her uniform sports a Barbie® monogram and cute little attached gingham print hankie.

For your consideration is the first edition (1998) Barbie from Mattel's American Classic "Coca Cola" series. This is the adorable blonde drive-in waitress Barbie doll. The accessories will bring you right back into the 50's!

The box reads:
"You'll surely want fries with your COKE, when Barbie doll greets you in her COKE red and white uniform with matching gingham print trim. Capturing a slice of American pie, Barbie looks as nostalgic as the COCA-COLA trademarks adorning her apron, waitress cap and "bottle-top" serving tray. The front of her uniform sports a Barbie monogram and cute little attached gingham print hankie. Reminiscent of the times, Barbie wears black and white saddle shoes, a playful ponytail, and smiles eagerly with her "writing tablet" ready."

The doll is in excellent condition and she has never been removed from the box.

The corners of the box shows minor shelf wear and scuffs. Exact Cash only.

A New Line of Mattel African-American Barbie dolls Coming Soon!

A Mattel representative said on Thursday the company would be releasing a New Line of African-American Barbie dolls.

The Black Barbie doll is one of the most sought after Barbie dolls in the world.

"Christie", Mattel's first black Barbie doll. Was first introduced in 1968 and is due to be re-released in May 2009 as the Mattel Barbie "Pop Life™ Christie® Doll".

According to a CNN Money Report; Mattel's new line of of African-American Barbie dolls, "features three adult dolls, was previewed in a video at the Mattel and Fisher-Price Sneak-Peak Tour in New York one day after America's first African-American president, Barack Obama, took office".

The "So in Style" dolls, expected to be released in fall 2009, come with little sisters as part of a mentorship theme.

The company has shown the dolls to prominent women in the African-American community to ensure their authenticity and in an effort to possibly recruit a spokesperson for the new line, the Mattel representative said. The company wouldn't release the names of the women it consulted.

The line was inspired by Mattel toy designer Stacey McBride. The price of the new line will be in the same range as other Barbie lines.

With this news Barbies4Sale announces it's creation of two new categories. African American and Black Barbies. Each will host the finest Black, and African American barbie dolls on the market. We hope you will enjoy.

She is dressed in a form fitting black dress that flares slightly at the bottom. She has matching black arm cuffs and white and silver trim at the top of her gown. She has an elaborate embroidered swirl design that starts from the bottom of her gown and goes around her back and then up and around one side of her head. What some people don't know is that when she is deboxed, you get to see that there is a wonderful cut out in the swirl, behind her head, for her lovely platinum white, hair do / bun to poke through. Her hair bun is pulled back tight, and woven into sort of a braided bun with tiny strands of clear, iridescent strands that shine and glimmer in the light. Her earrings are pure glamour and are silver toned, drop style dangling earrings with huge diamond-like stones at the bottom. They are very dramatic. Lastly, her makeup, while being very soft, almost muted colors, is very lavishly applied. Her eyebrows are highly and perfectly arched and her eyes are a pale shade of blue and drawn out in a very cat-like manner. Her lips are a very nice nuetral type pink and her finger nails are painted to match.
